Essay Structure

The essay structure is a very vital phenomenon in writing essays. The structure should actually speak for itself whenever any reader goes through the essay. Consequently, the reader should not be raising questions about the structure of an essay that needs prompt answers from the writer. Further, the structure of an essay should be attract the reader’s attention by indicating the flow of ideas from the introduction, the body, and finally to the conclusion.
The introduction is paramount in essay writing. It gives the reader a reason to continue reading your paper. The introduction should leave the reader in suspense, hence giving him the reason to continue reading your paper. In addition, the introduction contains thesis statement which is the main subject of an essay. The thesis, gives the reader the reason of writing the essay; it answers the question as to why you are writing. Finally, introduction should consist of the plan of organization (PO). The PO gives the layout on how the writer is going to support the thesis statement
The second structure is the body. This is where the factors supporting the thesis statement are built and well expounded. The main ideas form the first paragraph of the body, while the minor supportive ideas from the remaining parts of the body. The writer should ensure that possible questions that can be raised by a reader about the essay statement are well elaborated in the body. The final part of an essay is the conclusion part. It gives a brief summary of the main points about the thesis but should not give a leeway for the reader to raise any question about the thesis.
